WorkSafeBC now fully paperless

Say goodbye to paper! WorkSafeBC has moved all assessment documents online to deliver quicker and more efficient service.

Starting January 2026, you’ll no longer receive

  •  A mailed annual payroll report. Instead, you’ll receive an email notification to go online to report and pay based on your reporting and payment deadlines.
  • Paper statements will no longer be mailed. If your account has a credit or debit balance, you’ll receive an email notification to view your statement online.

How to stay on top of important updates:

In order to stay on top of updates you will need to register for online access. If you don’t have an Online Services account yet then click here for a step-by-step guide to setting up your employer account.

If you do have an account make sure you check that your email address is correct in your online services account. This will ensure that you’ll receive email notifications whenever there are changes to your account. If WCB does NOT have your email address, you may miss important updates and correspondence.

Give Your Bookkeeper Access:

Once you have set up your online account, you can grant your bookkeeper (aka Homeroom if you are a client) secure third-party access.

After access has been granted, your bookkeeper will be able to:

  • Report payroll: Print or save transaction confirmations.
  • Pay premiums by credit card or direct debit: Schedule automatic payments if you have Personal Optional Protection coverage and save preferred payment methods.
  • View rate information: See the base premium rate for your client’s classification unit(s), view their experience rating adjustments and the claims used in their experience rating calculation. You can also see the preliminary annual rate notice before the final rates are released.
  • Receive immediate clearance: See your client’s clearance status — usually immediately after reporting and making a payment.
  • Update account information: Update your client’s email address, mailing address, ownership changes, or a change to their CRA business number.
  • View claim cost report: Analyze claim data, and view and print claim cost summary reports.

To check if your account information is correct:

  1. Log in to your online services account
  2. Go to the Insurance dashboard
  3. Under Account Information, select Manage my account
  4. Select Update your address and email communication preferences
  5. Add or update your email address, if applicable

View your correspondence and documents online.

When you receive an email notification that your statement is available online, or when it’s time to report your payroll:

  1. Log in to your online services account
  2. Go to the Insurance dashboard
  3. Select the View Letters and Documents button to view your statement or other documents.
  4. In this same section you can select the Report payroll button to report your payroll. See these instructions on how to report your payroll or make a payment online
